Job Description

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will be responsible for assisting with the reporting needs of the business by assisting in the monthly close and consolidation procedures for all ESPN. In addition, they will be responsible for managing the relationships with our external auditors and Corporate.

Responsibilities
Perform all accounting responsibilities for accurate and timely monthly/quarterly close for assigned areas, including P&L variances, Balance Sheet variances and analysis, account reconciliations and preparation of journal entries. Coordinate and organize the submission of accounting and finance department deliverables to Corporate and external auditors on a quarterly basis Coordinate, monitor and review the company’s internal controls and compliance programs; including acting as the key point of contact for ESPN’s Sarbanes-Oxley program. Provide department with support for various controls and compliance issues. Maintain and foster close relationships with Finance, Corporate and the external auditors and actively participate in the quarterly forecast and annual budget process. Complete various quarterly and annual Corporate and Tax deliverables as assigned. Assist in the consolidation of ESPN’s annual stand-alone financial statements. Monitor, review and resolve all intercompany issues within the company. Assists Management on special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years general accounting experience Strong analytical and financial analysis skills Strong written and oral communication skills Excellent organization and communication skills Highly motivated and organized Some people management skills as they apply to highly trained professionals Collaborative team player with strong intellectual curiosity Executive presence and ability to interact with all levels of individuals within an organization Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects often occurring simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications
SAP experience a plus Experience with Sarbanes Oxley regulations

Preferred Education
CPA certification preferred

Required Education
B.S. Degree in Accounting
