Project Senior Designer Digital Media

This is a project position with an estimated length of 1 year.

ESPN Digital Design seeks a Senior Designer to join a team dedicated to establishing and enforcing design and brand standards across digital screens as well as exploring new solutions for experience design that is displayed on a variety of connected devices, including desktops, tablets and handhelds.

This is a project position with an estimated length of 1 year.

Responsibilities
• Create designs and wireframes as required to meet design deadlines
• Applies ingenuity, creativity, analytical and organizational skills to daily deadlines
• Assists in front end development of HTML and CSS
• Build prototypes and participate in the process of validating success with testing and focus groups

Basic Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years’ experience working within the field of interactive media design, or have related experience in design and possess the following characteristics:
- Demonstrated record of contributing to design solutions on tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with hands-on art direction
- Sensitive to user behavior as it relates to design – must have a deep appreciation of how news and sports information are best presented online
- Self-motivated, a natural problem-solver, and a good communicator with a demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, both independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Facility with design software, e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator
- Solid understanding of practical benefits and limitations of Internet technologies
- Knowledge of HTML, understanding how comps translate to code
- Effective team player
Demonstrated skills with graphic design, layout, typography, information design, front-end technology and editorial designs are required
Must also demonstrate the ability to translate technology requirements, design standards, business requirements and user needs into functional designs

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fine Arts or Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience
