Designer I
The Designer I will create day-of-air show production graphics, provide basic After Effects support via template animation assignments and handle logo/headshot preparation for ESPN in-house image database.

Responsibilities
Utilize Adobe design/animation software to create graphics for ESPN productions. Maintain daily quality of on-air designs for studio and remote productions. Work under the direction of Design Supervisor and collaborate with Show Director for assigned productions. Ensure accurate and timely preparation and delivery of all daily requests. Gain strong understanding of studio/remote production workflows, show production design/animation build files and ESPN production terminology. Gain strong understanding of ESPN IMS (Image Management System) for cataloging logos/headshots and custom graphic elements. Creatively contribute to longer-term, non-day-of-air design projects as assigned. Recognize and report equipment/software malfunctions.
Basic Qualifications
Must provide a portfolio or demo reel that highlights your creativity and design skills. Candidates must be highly motivated, willing to work unusual hours, and demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure while consistently meeting all deadlines. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator Demonstrated understanding of type layout skills (through portfolio samples). Strong individual and team communication skills with the ability to take direction well. Highly driven, self-motivated individual who will work well in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform well under pressure & prioritize effectively while handling multiple tasks Must maintain high standards of efficiency, consistency, accuracy, and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong computer and spelling skills are necessary, good sports knowledge. After Effects or other animation software knowledge is a plus. Previous television design experience.
Preferred Education
Degree in Graphic Design or related field of study.
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
